Jambo, Hands down the trip of a life time! At the heart of the trip is the amazing Fig Tree Camp. The camp is surrounded by wildlife. Hippos and baboons can be seen from the safety of your riverside tent. Make sure to bring a set of ear plugs as the hippos are extremely loud during twilight hours. Hyena can also be heard at night time with their signature ‘whoo up’ sounds. The camp is situated on the Talek River which makes it situated in the heart of the habitat of local wildlife. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, food is amazing and the pool is handy in between game drives. The bar area is a fantastic place to talk to other visitors about your experiences while enjoying coffee or a bottle of Tusker or Two, be sure to try a cocktail made by the Maasai Maras number one mixologist Gideon and his assistants. Where to start with the game drives. This has to be hands down the most enjoyable experience I have ever had. A four day game drive gave me the opportunity to see the ‘Big Five’ and everything else the Maasai Mara had to offer. The highlight of the trip has to be watching a large male Lion steal a kill from a clan of Hyena at sunrise. I was also fortunate enough to see three week old Lion cubs and four separate Leopards. A lioness was also chased into the bush by a herd of elephants and unbeknown, a Black Rhino came hurtling out of the bush. My guide and guardian Johnathan was on point everyday and knew where to find the local wildlife. I also had the opportunity to visit a Maasai Village and experience the culture of the legendary Maasai Warriors. Do not hesitate to book your visit to the Maasai Mara and the Fig Tree Camp Asante❤️ Jay

Staff & Hospitality: What truly made our stay exceptional was the warmth and kindness of the staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt so well taken care of. The attention to detail and the genuine care they showed was heartwarming. The manager made it a point to check in with us daily, which added such a personal touch. We felt completely at home, and their thoughtfulness left a lasting impression. In-Room Experience: The river tent offered an incredible nature experience. We could see hippos right outside our room and woke up to birds singing every morning. However, for the price we paid, there were a few amenities missing, like an iron, kettle, tea, coffee, and higher-quality toiletries. Despite this, the views and connection to nature made it worthwhile. Food: The camp offers a fantastic selection of Indian food, which was a treat for us as vegetarians. The staff’s attention to our dietary preferences was outstanding, and we always felt that our needs were well looked after. Game Drives: The game drives were a highlight of our trip. Our driver, Jonathan, and guide, Gabriel, were knowledgeable and took us to different landscapes every day. We were lucky to see 4 of the Big Five and loved learning about the wildlife of the Maasai Mara. The ever-changing landscapes made each drive a new adventure. Special Experience: We celebrated my husband’s birthday with a private bush dinner, which was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. We were surprised by a group of locals who came to sing happy birthday in their local language and brought a cake. It was a magical, heartfelt celebration that we will never forget.

The customer service provided by all staff members was outstanding. The rooms were clean and very spacious. There were hippos in the river in front and even elephants came near the camp once which was awesome. The food was excellent and again the restaurant staff went out of their way to ensure everyone was comfortable. The packed lunches were also hearty. I would 100/100 recommend everyone to stay here if they are visiting Masai Mara. The electricity is provided through generator and therefore is not available at certain times of the day however the staff covers all of that information in the briefing. Since almost everyone is out during those times, it never mattered to us.

it was a very remarkable stay! this hotel located at the heart of NP which means you’ll be able to go for a game drive very easily and freaquently. the staff were super friendly, we felt like we were at home, specially Sam the reception guy, he was very kind. the rooms are relatively comfortable and equipped, fortunately the manager upgraded our room to a tent with river view, we had a view of hippos laying down just in front of our tent which was fascinating! and if you come to this camp, I highly recommend to attend a Balloon flight, it worth every penny!

It’s beautiful. The pictures don’t lie. You can see hippos and crocodiles from some of the rooms and it’s mesmerising to see the dynamic between them. Staff especially at the reception can’t be more helpful and kind. I felt I’m in my family home. We hat a bush walk with Maitai( I hope I spelled his name right) which was so rich and memorable. Gave drive with Hirami was also very good. The food is delicious and having all those birds around makes everything even nicer.
